1Who this policy covers
Backstock Bazaar is a B2B marketplace. Brands list RTO, customer-return and excess stock as graded, size-wise bulk lots. Resellers make offers on those lots or reserve them at list price.
We run the listing, the negotiation and the order record. We do not hold money: resellers pay brands directly by UPI or NEFT, and refunds are paid the same way. This policy sits alongside the Terms and the Privacy policy.
2What you can list
Two categories are open:
- Apparel: kurtas, tees and polos, denim, kidswear, ethnicwear, activewear.
- Home goods: bedsheets, cushion covers, curtains, towels, kitchen linen, decor.
- Every lot names its stock source: Excess, RTO, Customer return or Seconds.
- You must own the stock or hold written permission to sell it. Brands confirm this during onboarding with the declaration “I own this stock and have the right to sell it.”
3Prohibited items
These cannot be listed on Backstock Bazaar in any quantity, grade or category.
Counterfeit or replica goods
Anything made to pass as another brand's product, or carrying a label, logo or tag the seller has no licence to use.
For example: First-copy kurtas, look-alike logos on tees, relabelled denim.
Used innerwear and socks
Innerwear and socks that a customer has opened, worn or tried. Sealed, unworn RTO innerwear in original packing is fine.
For example: Returned briefs, bras, vests, boxers or socks out of their pack.
Goods you have no right to sell
Stock you do not own and are not authorised in writing to sell, including a client's goods, a brand's stock held by a 3PL, or anything under a lien or dispute.
For example: Another brand's RTO cartons left in your godown, consignment stock without approval.
Before a lot goes Live, the brand ticks “No prohibited items, and I have the right to sell this stock.” Lots go Live after automated checks, with no manual review, so this declaration is the brand’s responsibility.
4Describing a lot honestly
Resellers buy from photos and numbers. The listing has to match what is in the cartons. Grades are A for new or deadstock, B for open box, C for customer returns that were tried or handled, D for salvage with visible defects.
- Units per grade must add up to the total units, and the total must equal the size and colour quantities.
- Upload 6 to 12 photos, with at least 2 photos of every grade in the lot.
- Write down known defects. Do not crop or angle photos to hide them.
- The asking price cannot be above the MRP, and the floor price cannot be above the asking price.
- A partial order gets a proportional grade mix, within ±10%. If buyers will care about grade, split grades into separate lots.
- While offers are open or units are reserved, quantities and grades are locked and the price can only go down.
5Hidden brands and resale conditions
A brand can show its name on a lot, hide it until the reseller is verified, or hide it until it accepts their offer. Hidden names are left out of the lot page, the share image and search results.
A brand can also set resale conditions, such as where the stock may be resold. They appear in a bordered notice on the lot page and in the negotiation room. A reseller who makes an offer accepts those conditions and must follow them after the sale.
Do not try to find out a hidden brand by other means, and do not publish a brand’s name next to stock it chose to sell quietly.
6Offers, reservations and payment
- A reseller can have one open offer per lot. Each side can counter up to 3 times, after which only Accept or Decline remain.
- An offer below the brand’s hidden floor price is declined automatically. The floor price is never shown to anyone.
- Phone numbers, emails and other contact details are removed from offer messages. Contacts unlock for both sides on the order page once a reservation exists. Do not move a deal off the platform to avoid commission.
- An accepted offer, or a reservation at list price, holds the units for 48 hours. The reseller pays the exact amount, including GST, with the order code as the payment reference, then submits the UTR.
- The brand confirms the money has arrived before dispatching. Shipping is paid as the lot’s shipping terms say: buyer pays freight, seller pays, or ex-warehouse pickup.
7Time limits
Every order moves on a clock. These are the limits and what happens when one runs out.
- Reply to an offer or counter
- 48 h
- Whose turn it is. If nobody acts: the offer expires.
- Pay for a reservation
- 48 h
- Reseller. If nobody acts: order expires, units return to the lot.
- Confirm the payment arrived

8Dispatch, inspection and issues
The brand dispatches within the lot’s dispatch days and records the transporter, the LR or AWB number, the carton count and photos of the sealed cartons. When the lot offers a GST invoice, it is uploaded with the dispatch details.
After the reseller marks the order received, they have 72 hours to inspect it. A reseller can raise an issue for a grade mismatch, short quantity, wrong items, damage in transit or an order that never arrived, with photos or video, and ask for a full or partial refund.
- Grade tolerance: if more than 10% of units are below the declared grade, the reseller may raise an issue.
- The brand has 48 hours to offer a full refund, offer a partial refund, or decline with an explanation. The reseller accepts or rejects the response.
- An accepted refund is paid offline. The brand uploads the refund UTR and the issue is Resolved.
- A rejected response, or no response in time, makes the issue Unresolved. It counts against the brand’s scores and both sides are shown our support address.
9Commission
Listing is free and resellers pay nothing. Brands pay a commission of 5% on each completed order’s subtotal, excluding GST, plus 18% GST on the commission. There is no monthly fee.
Commission is added up once a month into a statement the brand pays by UPI or NEFT. Orders that expire or are cancelled carry no commission.
10Scores and the Verified badge
Scores are calculated automatically from orders on the platform.
- Grade accuracy: completed orders that did not end in a grade-mismatch refund or an unresolved grade issue, divided by completed orders. Shown after 3 completed orders.
- Issues resolved, orders completed and average response time for brands; reservation completion rate for resellers.
- Verified badge: email verified, GSTIN checked and profile complete. It is removed automatically if any of the three stops holding.
11Reports and enforcement
Every lot page has a “Report this lot” button for counterfeit or replica goods, prohibited items, misleading photos or grades, or anything else. Each report reaches us by email with a link to the lot, and a person reviews it.
We may unpublish a lot that breaks this policy and close the account of anyone who breaks it again or on purpose. Brands that list counterfeit goods or stock they have no right to sell are removed.
